Access to relevant information and efficient time usage are two of a planner’s greatest challenges. Our SMSF administration service takes a proactive approach to providing advisers with the ability to provide a range of value-added services to their SMSF clients, but this has required planners to be more involved in the administration process than some have liked. Such planners have sometimes preferred to continue using the once-a-year service traditionally provided by accountants to free up resources, notwithstanding the lack of control, transparency, immediacy and proactive analysis that is the inevitable result.
Our new portal enhancement provides a unique solution to this dilemma. Advisers can now nominate how they wish the communication process to function by selecting, on either a per SMSF basis or an individual SMSF query basis, whether our default contact point is:
- the adviser
- the adviser who can reassign a query to the trustee or
- to the trustee direct
Essentially, this is a “best of both worlds” solution for advisers who prefer the “traditional” approach but wish to enjoy complete visibility over all communications and workflows, including the benefits of our proactive approach, with minimal administration involvement – if they wish.
